From June 14th to 22nd, our group of three classes (6A, 6C, 6D) and four teachers (Prof. Sauer, Prof. Gartner, Prof. Hellerschmid, Prof. Steinhauser) embarked on an unforgettable trip starting in Bristol. Our adventure began with a stay at a cozy youth hostel and included an insightful tour about Bristol's involvement in the slave trade, where we learned about its historical impact and significance.
We then moved on to Bath, where we explored the famous Roman Baths and the city’s historic streets, marvelling at museums, Georgian Houses, and sites from the Regency era, including those associated with Jane Austen and, despite the rainy weather, enjoyed a bike tour through the countryside.
Arriving in Newquay, Cornwall, we settled in with our welcoming host families and basked in the beauty of its stunning beaches under perfect weather conditions. The days were filled with thrilling sports activities like surfing, stand-up paddle boarding (SUP), basketball, rugby and cricket. Dance sessions added a groove to our days, and one of the highlights was the exhilarating coasteering experience. On our beach outings, we even spotted seals and were often accompanied by not so friendly seagulls, all while getting a nice suntan/sunburn.
A day trip to the Southwestern tip of Cornwall took us to the tidal island of St. Michael’s Mount, the picturesque St. Ives, where we explored the Tate Gallery, relaxed on Porthcurno beach with its crystal-clear waters and hiked to the breathtaking Land’s End. Evenings were filled with excitement, featuring karaoke sessions and quiz nights, making this trip an enriching and memorable experience for everyone involved.
“The trunk is still halfway open! Our luggage! ““Don't worry, we will fly away “, and that was the start of our week in Newquay with our funny host mama. That was the moment we realised that we were at right destination for the best week we have ever experienced abroad.

Johannes got a new name – John - because his host family because couldn’t pronounce it, one of the coaches called us Europe and India! Karaoke-Night in this church with café and skater park inside was amazing…

The tide was fantastic to watch. In the morning you could walk from one beach to another!
(Felix, Clemens)
One of our favourite sport activities in England was, without a doubt, cricket. Never having played cricket before we joined the course with no knowledge about the rules. On top of that, we had the best coaches you could imagine.
(Erik, Lukas, and Eduard)
Our main focus was surfing. It was mind-blowing! The first time riding a wave was a large accomplishment for each one of us.
(Klaus, Felix, Dede)
The daytrip to St. Ives and the walk to Land´s End created unforgettable memories.
